Dr. E. Michael Thomas, Jr.

The founder of Abington Family Dental, Dr. Thomas has been setting the highest standards of excellence in dentistry for over 25 years! He earned his bachelor’s degree from Notre Dame University and his dental degree from the prestigious Georgetown University School of Dentistry. He then continued his training at the Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry and completed a specialized residency in endodontics. An esteemed member of the dental community, Dr. Thomas is a member of many top dental organizations, such as the American Dental Association, the Massachusetts Dental Association, the American Association of Endodontists and the Academy of General Dentistry. Away from the office, Dr. Thomas enjoys giving back to his community and is a member of the Abington Lions’ Club. In his spare time, he enjoys hypnosis, sports, golf and spending time with his family.

Dr. Nelson Wood D.M.D., D. Sc.

Dr. Thomas is happy to announce that Dr. Nelson Wood D.M.D., D. Sc. has joined our staff. Dr. Wood holds a D.M.D. from the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Dental Medicine and a Doctorate of Science Degree in Nutritional Sciences from Boston University School of Dental Medicine. He has been in private practice for 26 years and was also an Associate Professor in the Department of Periodontics and Preventive Sciences at the University Of Mississippi Medical Center School Of Dentistry. Dr. Wood has published over 50 articles and abstracts on oral health and nutrition and authored several book chapters.

Dr. Wood and his family have recently moved to our area from the western part of the state. Since joining our practice, he has brought his expertise covering oral surgery, implants, and dentures as well as general dentistry.
